These are outdoor, public spots best suited to just the two of you and your witnesses, or a small group of family and friends, in and out within about fifteen minutes and with no tables, chairs or arbour required.

Little Bay offers two very different backdrops within the one spot. Down the stairs, the beach itself is sheltered and calm, with clear water and sandstone headlands on either side. Up on top, the headland near The Coast Golf Club (not on the course itself) sits right in front of the historic chapel, with sweeping ocean views and lush green lawns.

The Beach
Down the stairs from the car park, the beach is the most popular choice, calm, sheltered and framed by sandstone cliffs on either side. A lovely natural backdrop for a short exchange of vows, with the sound of the waves behind you.
The Headland (near the chapel)
On top of the cliff, in front of the chapel and beside (but not on) The Coast Golf Club, this grassy headland spot has sweeping views out over the ocean. Worth knowing: it can be quite windy up here in winter, and fully exposed to the sun around the middle of the day in summer, so an early morning or late afternoon ceremony works best in the warmer months.
Good to Know
Little Bay is a quieter spot than most of Sydney’s eastern beaches, so it rarely feels crowded, even on weekends. If you’re drawn to the headland ceremony spot, keep the wind and sun in mind when picking your time of day, mornings and late afternoons are more comfortable than the middle of the day in summer. As with all these outdoor legal ceremony spots, no chairs, tables or arbour can be set up, and the ceremony itself takes around fifteen minutes, so it’s a simple in-and-out.
Parking & Getting There
There’s a car park close to the top of the stairs down to the beach, though spaces can fill on weekends and in good weather, so it’s worth allowing extra time or arriving a little early.
Little Bay is best reached by car, as it’s not close to a train line and bus options are limited.
