Best Ceremony Locations Around Bronte
Calga Reserve
My favourite ceremony location in Bronte. Perched on the clifftops above Bronte Beach, Calga Reserve offers spectacular uninterrupted ocean views and a peaceful setting away from the crowds below. It’s perfect for legal weddings and intimate ceremonies, with plenty of room for a handful of guests while still feeling private. The dramatic sandstone cliffs and coastal backdrop also make it one of the best locations for wedding photography.
Marks Park
Located just a short walk along the Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk, Marks Park features expansive grassy clifftops with panoramic views stretching from Bondi to Coogee. It suits couples wanting a little more space for guests while still enjoying a stunning coastal backdrop. The open lawns and elevated position create beautiful ceremony and portrait opportunities.
Bronte Beach
A ceremony on the sand can be beautiful, particularly for a sunrise elopement or a weekday legal wedding. However, I generally only recommend Bronte Beach for very small ceremonies. It becomes extremely busy during weekends and summer, with swimmers, surfers and beachgoers making privacy difficult. If you’re set on Bronte, the nearby clifftops and reserves usually provide a much more relaxed experience while still capturing the same incredible ocean scenery.
Best Time for a Bronte Wedding
Bronte is popular all year round, but timing makes a huge difference.
I generally recommend:
- Weekday ceremonies
- Early mornings
- Late afternoons outside peak summer
Weekend afternoons can be extremely busy with beachgoers, fitness groups and people walking the coastal path.
Sunrise ceremonies are particularly magical if you’re happy with an early start.
